Damasi Rules

• Board Setup: The game is played on an 8×8 board with 16 men on each side, arranged in two rows, leaving the back row empty.

• Movement and Capture: Men move forward or sideways one square, capturing by jumping over an opponent's piece. Men cannot move backwards. Upon reaching the back row, a man is promoted to a king. Kings have enhanced mobility, moving any number of squares forward, backward, or sideways, capturing by jumping over any piece and landing on any permissible square beyond the captured piece.

• Capture Mechanics: Captured pieces are removed immediately after being jumped. If a jump is possible, it must be taken. When multiple jumps are possible, the sequence that captures the most pieces must be chosen. Both kings and men count as one piece during capture. If multiple sequences capture the same number of pieces, the player can choose which to execute.

• Game End: The game concludes when a player has no legal moves left, either due to all pieces being captured or being completely blocked. The opponent then wins the game.

• Unique Capture Rule: In Damasi, it's possible to cross the same square more than once in a single capturing sequence because pieces are removed immediately after being jumped.

• 180-Degree Turn Limitation: Within a multi-capture, turning 180 degrees between two captures is not allowed.
