The Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Systems are revolutionary tools for individuals managing diabetes. Designed specifically for those with the Dexcom G6 or G6 Pro CGM Systems, these devices provide real-time glucose readings every five minutes, allowing users with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, including children aged 2 years and older, to monitor their glucose levels without the need for fingersticks for treatment decisions, provided symptoms match readings.

A key benefit of the Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro Systems is the ability to stay informed about your glucose levels and trends directly from your smart device. These systems offer personalized trend alerts, enabling you to respond promptly when your glucose levels are either too low or too high. This feature is crucial for effectively managing your diabetes.

Enhancing user experience, the Dexcom G6 system includes an Alert Schedule feature that allows you to customize and schedule a second set of alerts. This can be particularly useful for aligning alerts with your daily routine, such as setting different alert settings for work hours versus other times of the day. Additionally, you can choose from custom alert sounds, including a Vibrate-Only option for your phone, ensuring you stay informed discreetly. Note that the Urgent Low Alarm, a vital safety feature, cannot be turned off.

The Always Sound setting, enabled by default, ensures you receive critical Dexcom CGM Alerts even if your phone is set to silent, vibrate, or Do Not Disturb mode. This means you can silence other notifications while still receiving important glucose alerts such as the Urgent Low Alarm, Low and High Glucose alerts, Urgent Low Soon Alert, and Rise and Fall Rate alerts. A convenient Home screen icon indicates whether your alerts are set to sound. For safety reasons, the Urgent Low Alarm and three other alerts—Transmitter Failed, Sensor Failed, and App Stopped—cannot be silenced.

Additional features of the Dexcom G6 system include the ability to share your glucose data in real-time with up to ten followers through the Dexcom Follow app, which requires an internet connection. This functionality allows your loved ones to monitor your glucose trends on their compatible smart devices. Furthermore, Health Connect access enables sharing retrospective glucose data with third-party apps, enhancing your diabetes management ecosystem. The Quick Glance feature lets you view your glucose data directly from the lock screen of your smart device, making it easier to stay on top of your levels.

For those who use Wear OS watches, integration with the Dexcom G6 system allows you to receive glucose alerts and alarms right on your wrist, offering another layer of convenience and immediate awareness.

Please note that some features, such as Alert Schedule, Always Sound, Share, Follow, and Health Connect, are not available on the Dexcom G6 Pro System.
