The rules of Mau Mau are detailed within the app itself, and you can also find them at https://mauking.com/pravila-igre-mau-mau. Here's a quick refresher to ensure you're playing the game you're familiar with:

The game begins with one card on the table and six cards in each player's hand.
The first player to discard all their cards wins the game.
On your turn, play a card that matches the top card on the table by number or suit.
If you can't play a card, draw one from the Draw Pile. If you still can't play, click the "Pass" button.
Before playing your second-to-last card, click the Hand button to signal you're close to winning. A raised hand icon will appear next to your avatar, alerting other players that you're one card away from victory.

Special cards add exciting twists to the game:

The Jack can be played on any card except another Jack. It allows you to choose the suit for the next player.
The Eight skips the next player's turn.
The Seven forces the next player to draw two cards, unless they play another Seven, passing the penalty to the next player, who then draws four cards, and so on.
The Queen reverses the direction of play.
Playing an Ace grants you another turn. However, you cannot win with an Ace as you must play another card or draw if you can't play.
The Two of Clubs makes the next player draw four cards from the draw pile.
