Marvel Rivals: Console Bans for Keyboard and Mouse Use Begin

According to a recent official announcement from NetEase Games, players using keyboard and mouse adapters on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles while playing *Marvel Rivals* will face account blocks. The company deems this practice a violation of their rules, citing the unfair advantage it provides due to enhanced control sensitivity and the retention of aiming assistance.

Adapters such as XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper enable the simulation of gamepad controls using a keyboard and mouse. This setup offers a significant edge in competitive modes, particularly when auto-targeting is enabled.

NetEase has clarified their stance, stating, "We define adapters as devices or programs that emulate gamepad control using a keyboard and mouse. This creates an imbalance in the game, especially in competitive modes." To combat this, the company has deployed specialized tools designed to detect adapter use with high precision. Any detected violations result in immediate account blocks.

In addition to the adapter issue, there's another challenge players of *Marvel Rivals* face: the relationship between frame rate (FPS) and ping. It's been noted that higher FPS can lead to increased ping, which may not be significant if your ping is already low. However, a sudden jump to 150 ms from a typical 90 ms can severely impact gameplay.

This problem appears to be linked to the frame rate. While waiting for a patch, gamers are advised to find the optimal balance between FPS and ping. Some players suggest maintaining an FPS around 90. This might seem counterintuitive to those accustomed to higher FPS in games like *Counter-Strike 2*, but for *Marvel Rivals*, this is the current recommendation.
