Following the World Warrior circuit, EventHubs compiled statistics on the most frequently used characters at the highest level of play. This data provides a valuable insight into the game's current balance. Remarkably, all 24 characters saw representation, though only one player opted for Ryu out of nearly two hundred participants (including eight regional finalists from 24 regions). Even Terry Bogard, the newest addition to the roster, was selected by only two players.
Dominating the professional scene are Cammy, Ken, and M. Bison, each chosen as the main character by 17 players. A significant gap separates this top tier from the next, which includes Akuma (12 players), Ed and Luke (11 each), and JP and Chun-Li (10 each). Among the less frequently selected characters, Zangief, Guile, and Juri stand out, each serving as the primary character for seven players.
