The Nintendo Switch is ending its run with a bang, launching several exciting titles before its successor, the officially announced Switch 2, takes the stage. These upcoming Switch games, whether Switch exclusives or ports, will fill out the Switch's final year, and will also be playable on the Switch 2 upon release.

Nintendo Switch 2 Release Date

After months of rumors, Nintendo officially announced the Switch 2 on January 16th. While the announcement trailer showcased new features, specifics like pricing and the exact release date are still pending, with more information promised in an April 2nd Nintendo Direct.

The trailer confirmed backward compatibility for the Switch 2, supporting both physical and digital Switch games. A new Mario Kart game appears in the trailer, and leaks suggest ports of titles like Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII Remake.
