This is a quiz app that challenges you to match the correct second half of a phrase from the "Iroha Uta" to its given first half.

This is a quiz app about the classic Japanese poem, the "Iroha Uta".

"Iroha Karuta" is a card game based on the "Iroha Uta", a poem that uses all 47 unique hiragana characters, plus an additional character '京' (Kyo), to form the first letters of its proverbial phrases. It expresses sentiments such as "Life is but a fleeting dream, a shallow drunkenness; today we cross the deep proverbial mountains, where blossoms scatter with the scent." Created in Kyoto during the mid-Edo period, it spread to Osaka, Nagoya, and Edo. This quiz app uses phrases from the Tokyo style.

■ How to Use

You will be shown the "first half" of a phrase from the "Iroha Uta". Please select the correct "second half" from the three choices provided.

After answering, the result (correct or incorrect) and an explanation of the phrase will be displayed.
