Este diseño deja el interior hueco y da como resultado su icónica 'forma de ovnis'. En la parte superior, conocido como el lado "ding", encontrará una 'nota' central martillada en su lugar, rodeada de siete u ocho 'campos de tono' que han sido cuidadosamente martillados para producir diferentes sonidos. El fondo, denominado lado "GU", es una superficie lisa con un orificio enrollado en su centro.
