The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu has officially locked in its release for summer 2026, as confirmed by publisher Nacon and developer ACE Team during the Xbox Partner Preview. The game will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, marking a definitive push for the highly anticipated first-person horror co-op experience.
Originally unveiled at Nacon Connect in March 2025, the game has now narrowed its release window, signaling that development is on track for a polished and immersive launch. The new trailer showcases intense atmosphere, surreal environments, and the psychological tension that defines its Lovecraftian roots.
Set in a treacherous, otherworldly jungle, The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu places four players in a harrowing journey where survival depends not only on combat and resource management but also on trust—because the true enemy may be within.
As described by the developers:
“The Mound is inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s tales, with their suffocating and unpredictable atmospheres. Here, supernatural forces don’t merely pursue you—they warp your perception of reality, destabilizing your sense of truth. Amidst monstrous entities and unexplainable phenomena, the line between reality and illusion fades, planting doubt and paranoia in your group.”
Players will wield a mix of improvised weapons and occult tools, navigating shifting terrain and nightmarish illusions. The jungle itself seems to breathe and react—whispers in the trees, distorted reflections, and sudden shifts in environment all serve to erode sanity and fracture cooperation.
With its emphasis on psychological horror, unreliable reality, and intense group dynamics, The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu promises to deliver one of the most unsettling co-op horror experiences of the decade.
