The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 version of Hogwarts Legacy promises an enhanced gaming experience with sharper visuals, faster loading times, and innovative mouse controls. As showcased in a new comparison teaser trailer, the Switch 2 version allows for seamless transitions between areas like Hogsmeade, eliminating the loading screens that were present in the original game.
The improvements don't stop there. Playing on the Nintendo Switch 2 enhances the frame rate, textures, shadows, and even the color saturation of Hogwarts and its surroundings. You can witness these upgrades yourself in the trailer below:
The introduction of mouse controls has piqued our interest. While developer Warner Bros. hasn't provided full details yet, there's speculation that these controls might enhance spell-casting mechanics.
Similar to other games on the original Switch, players who own Hogwarts Legacy on the OG system can upgrade to this enhanced version for just $10.
Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive, action-packed, open-world role-playing game set in the 1800s wizarding world. Players start as a fifth-year student, embarking on a journey through both new and familiar locations, exploring magical beasts, crafting potions, mastering spell-casting, upgrading talents, and customizing their character to become the ultimate witch or wizard. The game is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on the console's release date, June 5.
We thoroughly enjoyed Hogwarts Legacy, giving it a 9/10 in our IGN Hogwart's Legacy review, stating: "in almost every way, Hogwarts Legacy is the Harry Potter RPG [we've] always wanted to play."
