Infinity Nikki and its multiplayer-focused 1.5 update have hit Steam, but they've brought a parade of drama along with them. Infold Games' stylish dress-up adventure finally made its way to Valve's digital storefront after months of Epic Game Store exclusivity. What should have been a moment for fans to celebrate has instead been marred by a wardrobe of technical issues, perplexing design changes, and demanding outfit requirements. The developers have apologized and promised compensation for those who feel wronged, but the battle for Infinity Nikki is far from over.

Infinity Nikki PC players were eager to dive into its Steam release but were met with technical issues ranging from crashes and an inability to launch the game to general instability. Infold's beloved dress-up game is not the first to face such challenges at launch, but as players flooded in, they found more than just performance problems to complain about.
Two new five-star Infinity Nikki outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, each contain 11 pieces, requiring up to 220 pulls—and potentially a significant amount of money—to complete a full set. This is more than the usual size players are accustomed to, and it was introduced without warning. The fear is that these outfit piece requirements will only increase beyond the already substantial 11-piece sets.
Meanwhile, Infold extended its Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event to last three weeks instead of two, causing confusion within the community. With technical issues and new monetization practices that demand more from fans, members of the Infinity Nikki Chinese player base took to the social media platform RedNote to voice their concerns. The issue quickly escalated into a full-on movement, with large portions of the global community now calling for a boycott of Infinity Nikki on Steam, leaving negative reviews, and uninstalling the game across all platforms.
"Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players," Reddit user kiaxxl said in a call-to-action post published earlier today. "For gacha games, tracking how successful a new batch of content is usually measured on the first few days. Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players."
Infinity Nikki users across social media have taken note of Infold's strategic changes, and there have been results. The game currently holds a "Mixed" rating on Steam as players leave negative reviews, warning newcomers to steer clear until their demands are met and grievances are addressed.
The Infinity Nikki boycott grew to the point where Infold issued an apology letter across its official channels. The letter reassures players that many of the more prominent technical issues have been addressed, and the company promises to improve communication about future adjustments.
Apology Letter Regarding Version 1.5 Gaming Experience
Dear Stylists,
Hope this message finds you well.
First and foremost, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies. We are truly sorry that we were unable to provide you with a stable experience upon the release of the new… pic.twitter.com/YEjpGQpKho— Infinity Nikki (@InfinityNikkiEN) April 29, 2025
The apology included promises to revert Mira Crown to end on May 16 and kick off the next season the same day, along with compensation for players in the form of 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. While this is a step in the right direction, it falls short of the comprehensive overhaul many players hoped for.
While some viewed Infold's concessions as a victory, others remain concerned about the decision to keep the new outfits at 11 pieces. Despite promises of better communication, it appears some five-star outfits will still require 11 parts.
I wish you would finally chance the drop rate.. it cant be that i need 200 pulls to get a 5star and then you drop like 5 banners within weeks?! Make the rate lower or give us more diamonds to be able to get crystals.. this is not fun!

Infinity Nikki stylists have already started celebrating the quick turnaround they played a part in, though it's not the complete win they were hoping for. Boycotters now urge the community to keep up the pressure.
"Think about it: CN players are pointing out that if we accept the 11-piece outfits and pity as it is, most new 5 stars will **be** 11 pieces," Reddit user EdensAsmr said. "Imagine if every new major update has two 11-piece 5-star banners? That means you have to save even more to be able to handle it, and 70-80 pulls per patch will **not** cut it."
