Stun the Monster

One of the most challenging aspects of battling the Ebony Odogaron is its incredible speed. To counter this, stunning the monster is crucial. You can achieve this by triggering a nearby Flashfly or using crafted Flash Pods to momentarily immobilize it, giving you a chance to attack without immediate retaliation.

Bring Teammates

Facing Ebony Odogaron solo can be daunting due to its relentless attacks. To ease the burden, consider bringing teammates into the fray. Use SOS signals to call for backup; if no other players respond, NPCs can serve as effective distractions, allowing you more time to dodge and strike back.

Pull Down Entangled Rocks

During the fight, you'll encounter an area with Entangled Rocks overhead. Use your slinger to bring them down, stunning the Ebony Odogaron for a few precious seconds. Remember, this tactic can only be used once per battle. Additionally, deploy Pitfall and Shock Traps to immobilize the monster twice more.

Beware of Dragonblight

Ebony Odogaron can inflict Dragonblight, which hampers your ability to deal elemental or status damage. To counteract this, carry Nulberries to cure the effect or equip decorations with Level 3 Dragon Resistance or Blight Resistance to mitigate its impact.

Inflict Paralysis

Paralysis is a highly effective status effect against Ebony Odogaron, immobilizing it and making it easier to attack. If you can knock it down near roots, it may become entangled, prolonging your window for damage.

Aim for the Head

The head of the Ebony Odogaron is its most vulnerable spot, boasting a 3-star weakness. Targeting this area maximizes your damage output, though it also puts you at higher risk. Alternatively, aim for the forelegs and tail for safer, albeit less damaging, hits that can still result in breaking these parts.

Capturing Ebony Odogaron requires careful timing. Deploy a Pitfall or Shock Trap once the monster's health is reduced to 20 percent or less. Ensure you use tranquilizers at this point, as failing to do so will allow the monster to break free and force you to continue the battle.
