Radiangames has just unveiled Speed Demons 2, a side-scrolling highway racer that's poised to evoke memories of the iconic arcade racing series, Burnout, with its high-octane gameplay and striking visual style. Following the mobile roots of its predecessor, this sequel is now in development for PC and slated for release later this year.
The developer shares an intriguing insight into the game's controls, stating, "The controls are focused on movement, not steering. You'll still have gas, brake, and turbo (or ability) buttons, but you move the analog stick (or mouse) up and down to control your vehicle's direction." They assure that while the concept may seem unusual, it becomes immediately intuitive once you start playing.

Speed Demons 2 offers a rich variety with ten game modes, including Pursuit, Takedown, and Rampage, which resonate with Burnout's Road Rage by challenging players to wreak havoc on other cars within a set time limit. Another mode, Scratchless, mirrors Burnout's Burning Lap, tasking players with reaching the finish line with minimal damage to their vehicle.
