Application Description

ADW Launcher 2 transcends the typical Android desktop customization, offering an unparalleled level of control and creativity. You might think the original and best launcher hasn't been updated, but from a non-linear, non-subjective perspective, we actually released this update three years ago—you just hadn't realized it yet. We understand not everyone has 1.21 gigawatts to spare on updates.

We've taken Google's recommendations on app options and settings to heart, but rather than limiting choices, we've done the opposite. After all, without freedom of choice, there's no creativity. The Launcher thrives on this principle.

You might find the excess of settings overwhelming, and that's a completely normal reaction. You might not be ready for this level of customization, but your kids are going to love it. With approximately 3720 to 1 ways to configure ADW Launcher 2 to your liking, it's mathematically proven to be the best launcher.

We've got screens, icons, and widgets, and yes, you can create your own. If pre-made options are more your style, dive into themes, widget, and template packs. Is your device's desktop boring? Change it again, Sam. Your style, your rules. Do, or do not—there's a setting for it. Tweak it, change it, shaken, not stirred.

Remember, "There's no such thing as 'the unknown,' only options inside ADW Settings." Are you going to miss out?

Endless Features

We've reprogrammed and redesigned most of the application from scratch, adding a plethora of new features. Here's a glimpse:

  • Support for Android 7.1 launcher shortcuts (with limited support on older versions down to 5.x).
  • A new icons effects section where you can choose image filters and compositions. It's awesome!
  • Dynamic UI coloring that uses your wallpaper's colors.
  • A new way to manage screens by holding down an empty area of the desktop.
  • New methods for adding widgets and shortcuts.
  • A new way to change the wallpaper, lock/unlock the desktop, or access settings by holding down an empty area of the desktop and selecting an option.
  • Fast scroll and indexed fast scroll styles for the app drawer.
  • New desktop transitions.
  • A new section to configure icon badges.
  • A visual mode to configure desktop, icon appearance, folder appearance, and app drawer options.
  • Options to change the top panel/widget and the content type of the bottom panel (dock/widget).
  • A new wrap folder mode that lets you launch the first app in the folder on tap and show the folder contents on swipe up.
  • Fast application search in the app drawer.
  • Improved app categories in the app drawer.
  • Enhanced management of user gestures.
  • Improved application of internal and external themes.
  • An upgraded context menu for all desktop objects.
  • A new Custom Widget object, allowing you to add, import, create, edit, and share custom widgets.
  • Initial extensions for custom widgets (time/battery).
  • Check out the ADWExtensions pack for more extensions (weather, Gmail, etc.).
  • A template manager to easily remove, add, and share templates.
  • Improved icon and folder properties dialogs.
  • A backup manager in advanced settings/system that lets you import data from other famous launchers (if we've missed one, let us know!).
  • The ability to set a secondary action on desktop shortcuts by swiping up over the desktop shortcut.
  • And probably 2 or 200 other features we've forgotten to mention...

Plus, a bunch of wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff inside!
