Gomoku is a classic abstract strategy board game.
Also known as Gobang or Five in a Row, it's traditionally played using Go pieces (black and white stones) on a Go board. However, since pieces remain in place once positioned and aren't moved or removed, Gomoku can also be enjoyed as a paper-and-pencil game. Different countries recognize this game under various names.
Black moves first, with players taking turns to place their colored stones on empty intersections. Victory goes to the first player who forms an uninterrupted line of five stones horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
Dr. Gomoku strictly follows the official Renju rule set.
