Lucasfilm a confirmé Star Wars : Starfighter, un futur blockbuster réalisé par Shawn Levy (Deadpool & Wolverine) avec Ryan Gosling en tête d'affiche, dont la sortie en salles est prévue pour le 28 mai 2027. L'histoire se déroule cinq ans après les événements de Star Wars : L'Ascension de Skywalker.

L'annonce a été faite durant la Star Wars Celebration, le tournage devant commencer cet automne.
