Story

The DC universe features multiple parallel dimensions, known as alternative universes, where events unfold differently, leading to various outcomes. Injustice: Gods Among Us takes place in a fictional alternative universe where Superman has been corrupted after being tricked into killing his pregnant wife, Lois, and millions of civilians in a tragic nuclear accident. In response, he brutally eliminates the Joker, the mastermind behind the tragedy, and begins his tyrannical rule over the planet.

With his mind corrupted, Superman sees himself as the supreme deity tasked with maintaining peace and order. He becomes ruthless, willing to kill anyone he deems guilty. This cannot continue, or the planet will fall into destruction. A group of superheroes, led by Batman, forms the Insurgency to stand against Superman's dictatorship. Despite their powers, they cannot defeat Superman's One Earth Regime and seek help.

Batman and the Insurgency devise a plan to teleport superheroes from another dimension where the Joker's schemes never succeeded. They hope to harness the powers of these alternate realm heroes. Thus, your ultimate journey in the world of Injustice begins.
