Capcom to Crack Down on Monster Hunter Wilds Cheaters Before Update 1

Authore: JosephUpdate:May 14,2025

Tomorrow marks an exciting milestone for Monster Hunter Wilds with the release of its first Title Update, introducing quests that encourage players to compete for the fastest clear times. In anticipation of this competitive feature, Capcom has made it clear that it will not tolerate cheating or the use of external tools to manipulate rankings.

In a recent post on their X/Twitter account, Capcom issued a stern warning: "To ensure a fun and fair experience for our players, we will take action against accounts participating in fraudulent ranking activity, such as the use of cheating or external tools. Accounts deemed to be in breach of this may be suspended, or have restrictions placed on them, such as being unable to receive rewards from these quests." This stance underscores Capcom's commitment to maintaining a level playing field within the Monster Hunter Wilds community.

The company also highlighted that players joining multiplayer hunts with cheaters risk having their quest completion times invalidated and their "right to rewards" revoked for the entire party. Capcom advised players to be cautious and avoid playing with those suspected of engaging in prohibited activities, urging them to report any instances of cheating they encounter during quests.

These new quests will offer attractive rewards, including cosmetic pendants. Some rewards will be available to all participants, while others will be awarded based on Completion Time or the hunter's ranking. Given the stakes, Capcom's crackdown on cheaters and suspicious behavior is a logical step to ensure the integrity of the competition and the fairness of reward distribution.

The Time-Based Competition Quests will be accessible through the new Arena Quest Counter in the Grand Hub in Suja, starting with Title Update 1. Players must first complete a special tutorial mission to unlock the Grand Hub. Make sure to head straight there once Title Update 1 goes live in Monster Hunter Wilds.
