Ubisoft appears to be grappling with a series of unfortunate leaks concerning its unannounced game, Project U. Gameplay leaks emerged as early as 2022, shortly after the game's closed beta testing phase began. These leaks have resurfaced two years later, indicating that the project is still in development. Recently, following what seems to be a reboot of the game's development, an introductory cinematic was leaked online.
The origin and authenticity of this cinematic have not been officially verified. It was shared by blogger Shaun Weber, known for his history of leaking gaming content. Weber has suggested that more videos from Project U could surface if the game continues to be in development for an extended period.
Project U is anticipated to be a session-based cooperative shooter, inspired by the success of Helldivers 2. According to the leaked footage, the game's narrative centers around an alien machine invasion of Earth, with players assuming the roles of chosen individuals tasked with combating this extraterrestrial threat.
As of now, Ubisoft has not provided any official statements regarding the planned announcement of Project U.
