The streaming giant has enlisted T.S. Nowlin, renowned for his contributions to the Maze Runner series and Netflix's Project Adam, to write the screenplay. While Derek Kolstad, who was initially involved in adapting Sifu's narrative, might still have a role, his current involvement is uncertain.
Adding to the project's allure, Chad Stahelski, the visionary behind the John Wick franchise, along with his production company 87Eleven Entertainment, will executive produce. Stahelski is also involved in another eagerly awaited video game adaptation, Ghost of Tsushima.
Since its launch in 2022, Sifu has captivated audiences, selling over a million copies in just three weeks. The game centers on a young martial artist on a quest for vengeance after their master's murder. Equipped with a mystical pendant that revives them after each death but ages them significantly, the protagonist navigates a perilous world filled with danger and mystery.
