Zelda Speedrun Nears 10 Minutes on Switch 2

Authore: AlexanderUpdate:Apr 22,2026

A The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild speedrunner has defeated the game's final boss in the Nintendo Switch 2 version at a special experience event in Japan, all within the 10-minute time limit.

As reported by VGC, Japanese creator Ikaboze accessed a pre-existing save file with unknown gear. He decided to challenge himself by attempting to "defeat Ganon completely naked and with all equipment unequipped." Loading directly into the final battle, he successfully took down the boss in just seven minutes, earning spontaneous applause from the crowd.

The accomplishment was even more remarkable considering Ikaboze was using an unfamiliar controller and could barely hear the game audio over the convention hall noise.

“I was surprised by the size of the crowd,” he said. “Even staff members were recording on their phones. I was the first to complete the Breath of the Wild demo, and the staff congratulated me."

The Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Edition of Breath of the Wild features improved visuals and performance, an achievement system, and integration with the new "Zelda Notes" service on the Nintendo Switch Online app. Current Switch owners do not receive these upgrades automatically but can purchase a $10 "upgrade pack" to access them. Both the Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom upgrade packs are included at no extra cost for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers.
