- Pokémon TCG Pocket's long-awaited card trading feature is now live
- However, initial player reactions appear lukewarm
- The launch coincides with an exciting new Space-Time Smackdown expansion!
As January draws to a close, Pokémon TCG Pocket enthusiasts have exciting news. The game's highly anticipated trading feature officially launches today, paired with a substantial new Space-Time Smackdown expansion.
What does this trading system offer? Essentially, it mimics real-world card trading between friends. Certain limitations apply - only select rarity levels (1-4 and 1-star) are tradeable, and players need special resources (trade hourglasses and tokens). Despite these restrictions, this marks a significant game evolution.
The Space-Time Smackdown expansion brings equally thrilling content, introducing legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia alongside Sinnoh starters Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup with numerous additional additions.

Ice-type
Player reception of the trading system hasn't been entirely positive, with some expressing dissatisfaction. While fundamentally sound, the numerous limitations appear problematic.
An unrestricted trading system or none at all might have served players better. Development teams reportedly monitor feedback closely, suggesting possible future adjustments.
