The Roland-Garros eSeries by Renault has announced its eight finalists, setting the stage for an exhilarating showdown. With an astounding 515,000 players from 221 countries participating in 9.5 million Tennis Clash matches, the competition has been fierce. Now, the finalists are ready to battle it out on May 24th at the Roland-Garros Tenniseum.
Reigning champion Alessandro Bianco and first Open Qualifier winner Hizir Balkanci will be joined by Anyndia Lestari, Omer Feder, Adjua Thembisa Boucher, Eugen Mosdir, Bartu Yildirim, and Samuel Sanin Ortiz. This diverse group of finalists promises an intense and memorable event.
Adding to the excitement, this year's tournament introduces a thrilling new format. The eight finalists will be divided into two teams, each led by a tennis legend. Gilles Simon, former ATP world Number 6 and a finalist from last year, will captain one team, while former Wimbledon Champion Marion Bartoli will lead the other.
The teams will compete in a series of matches, with the winners advancing to the Winner Bracket. However, the competition doesn't end there. Eliminated players will have a second chance in the Loser Bracket, where teams dissolve, and the fight for the title of Roland-Garros eSeries champion continues until only one remains.
To keep viewers engaged, the event will be hosted by Samuel Etienne, a well-known French personality and Twitch streamer with over 1 million followers. He will be joined by esports expert Quento and former Tennis Clash number 1 Benny, known as GP365. The tournament will be set in the spirit of Roland-Garros, featuring a replica of the iconic Philippe-Chatrier court and custom outfits. The esteemed French umpire Aurélie Tourte will officiate what promises to be a series of thrilling matches.
250 spectators will be in attendance at the auditorium, and the event will be live-streamed on Samuel Etienne’s Twitch and the Roland-Garros YouTube channels starting at 4pm CEST. Viewers can watch every match and enjoy interactive segments, including passionate discussions and fun activities with special guests from the worlds of tennis and eTennis.
