If you're a fan of video games and love collecting replicas or figurines, be cautious about what you pack in your luggage, especially if it resembles a weapon from games like Call of Duty. A recent post by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) serves as a reminder of this, spotlighting a replica of the Monkey Bomb from Call of Duty's Zombies mode, found in a checked bag at Boston Logan International Airport.

The Monkey Bomb, also known as the Cymbal Monkey, is a popular in-game item that has appeared in various Call of Duty titles, from World at War to Black Ops 6. The figurine in question is designed to hold a game controller, yet it also features elements that make it look like an explosive device, complete with dynamite and cables.

"This monkey may rack up points in a game, but in real life, leave the gear for your loadout screen, not your baggage," the TSA's post humorously yet firmly stated. It's clear that replica weapons and explosives, no matter how collectible or cool, are not permitted in either carry-on or checked baggage.

PlayThe TSA's website further elaborates on the prohibition of toy weapons, including "squirt guns, Nerf guns, toy swords, or other items that resemble realistic firearms or weapons." This might even be seen as a testament to the realism of the Monkey Bomb replica.

It's crucial to keep this in mind, especially if you're traveling to conventions or events where you might purchase such merchandise. Whether it's a Monkey Bomb figurine or Naruto-themed throwing knives, the TSA emphasizes that any item perceived as a security threat, even if it's just a replica, is prohibited in both checked and carry-on luggage.
