Nightmare Crownless stands out as a formidable new Nightmare version of Overlord-class Echoes in Wuthering Waves. It distinguishes itself from its regular counterpart by offering enhanced Havoc DMG and Basic Attack DMG, making it a top choice for certain characters looking to boost their combat effectiveness.
Similar to other Nightmare Echoes in Wuthering Waves, you can farm Nightmare Crownless from its specific overworld spawn point. However, before you can engage this challenging spear-wielder, you must first complete the Ruins Where Shadows Roam quest and follow up with an additional step. Here's how to unlock Nightmare Crownless.
Ruins Where Shadows Roam Quest Guide
The Ruins Where Shadows Roam quest deviates from the usual Wuthering Waves quest format. It isn't triggered by an NPC or an interactable object; instead, you'll find it listed in the Exploration Progress menu under the Penitent's End region in Rinascita. To access this, open your map and click the compass icon located in the upper-left corner, next to your current location's name.
This quest is closely tied to the optional Quest of Faith, which requires you to defeat four specific enemies across the Penitent's End region. Start your journey at the Resonance Beacon near the broken bridge in Wailing Ascent. Interact with the prompt near the circular arena by the beacon to initiate a battle against a Questless Knight, reminiscent of those encountered in the Silver Moon? Crimson Moon? quest in WuWa.
To overcome these knights, you must lure them close to a lit Macabre Torch within the arena. You can reignite extinguished torches by baiting Fae Ignis enemies to strike them. Be cautious not to use powerful skills near the torches, as they might get snuffed out.
How to Unlock Nightmare Crownless in WuWa
Upon successfully completing both the Ruins Where Shadows Roam and Quest of Faith, your next task is to locate all four Dream Patrols scattered throughout Penitent's End. While it's not mandatory to complete these challenges, doing so will reward you with additional resources and Monnaie in WuWa. The image above indicates the locations of these Dream Patrols. Once you've found all the patrols, Nightmare Crownless will appear on your map, located in the ruins north of Penitent's End.
It's important to remember that Nightmare Echoes require Enhanced Absorption charges, which notably boost the Echo drop rate. You receive only 15 of these charges weekly, so manage them wisely if you're aiming to enhance multiple characters.
