Tute Cabrero is a widely enjoyed card game across South America, known for its strategic depth and competitive play. Designed for 3 to 5 players, the game is played individually with no teams involved, making every match a battle of wits and skill.

The primary goal in Tute Cabrero is to either accumulate the most points or the fewest—depending on the declared objective at the start of the round. Players must aim to finish either first or last; coming in second place results in a loss. The game is played using a standard deck of 40 Spanish playing cards.

Card rankings are crucial in determining trick outcomes. From highest to lowest, the order is as follows: Ace (worth 11 points), 3 (10 points), King (4 points), Knight (3 points), Jack (2 points), followed by the 7, 6, 5, 4, and 2, which carry no point value.

During gameplay, the first card played in a trick sets the lead suit. All players must follow that suit if possible. If unable to do so, any card may be played. The trump suit holds dominance over all other suits and wins the trick. In the absence of trumps, the highest card of the leading suit takes the trick.
