Our second Sloword application is ready, and we're excited to introduce a fresh take on traditional crosswords with our Scanword feature. You can access Scanword directly from the first screen by clicking on the picture, or navigate to it through the Settings - Other Applications section. Give this modern alternative to crosswords a try and refresh your puzzle-solving experience.

Scanwords in Russian represent a unique cultural phenomenon, unmatched by any other language. They are filled with literary questions, humorous queries, and puzzles that reflect current global events. Despite their seemingly simple nature, Russian scanwords embody the nation's deep appreciation for the power of words. The Russian people cherish their language, holding words dear and valuing them as precious assets.

Our application offers a diverse range of scanwords, catering to different skill levels. From simpler puzzles to more challenging ones, you'll find scanwords with photographs, classic questions, or associative prompts like "one word" or "one word, two words," reminiscent of Elder Fur's tips. Each magazine includes one English-Russian scanword and one "holey" scanword - the reason for this name will become clear as you explore. Each page features a character from our cheerful family, inviting you to join our community.

All scanwords are freely accessible to our readers. This annual collection comprises 52-53 issues, each containing 20 scanwords. The complete set will occupy approximately 50 MB on your device - the images are compact, and the text is straightforward. We respect the space on your phone.

You don't need an internet connection to solve the puzzles, as long as the scanwords are already downloaded on your device. A new issue is released every Friday, and if you have notifications enabled, you'll receive a reminder at 12:00 local time. Upon opening the app, new issues download automatically and won't repeat if the download is successful. You can also manage individual magazine downloads or download all issues at once through the "Settings" menu.

The core features, including access to all scanwords, are free for users. Advertisers fund this service, allowing them to display one narrow banner per page and one interstitial ad before opening a scanword. These ads do not interrupt your puzzle-solving experience. Additionally, advertisers reward viewers with free hints for watching their videos.

Users have the option, but not the obligation, to interact with advertisers in several ways: a) permanently disable ads, b) subscribe to turn off ads and receive unlimited hints during the subscription period, or c) accumulate hints in bulk. These options are available in the "Shop" section.
