The PlayStation Portal has never been discounted before, but you can now save on a used unit. Amazon Resale, formerly known as Amazon Warehouse, currently offers Used: Like New condition PS Portals for just $150.23 shipped. This represents a significant 25% discount off the original retail price of $199. While a Sony warranty may not be included, Amazon Resale items come with the same 30-day return policy as new purchases. Given the popularity, these units are expected to sell out quickly.
Update: The price has now dropped to $150.23, marking the lowest price we've seen for a Used: Like New PS Portal.

The PS Portal, Sony's innovative handheld gaming accessory for the PS5 console, resembles an extended split-pad DualSense controller with an 8-inch 1080p LCD screen integrated in the middle. It allows you to stream games from your PS5 at up to 60fps, offering a handheld gaming experience. The controller includes all the features of the DualSense, such as haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and a touchscreen interface that replaces the traditional touchpad. To enjoy gaming outside your home, a very stable, very fast internet connection is essential. Note that the PS Portal is not a standalone device; it requires a PS5 to function.
Update: You no longer need a PS5 to play games on the PS Portal. Sony has introduced a new feature allowing owners to stream games directly from the PlayStation Now cloud streaming service. This means you can access a library of over 120 games, including titles like Ghost of Tsushima, Resident Evil 3 Remake, The Last of Us Part 1 Remastered, and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, without owning a PS5. To take advantage of this, you need to subscribe to the highest tier of PlayStation Plus, which costs $18 a month—a more affordable option compared to purchasing a PS5 and additional games.
It's worth mentioning that the PlayStation Portal isn't the only way to stream your PS5 games over Wi-Fi within your home. You can achieve similar functionality by using the PS Remote Play app on a mobile device, including other gaming handhelds like the Steam Deck. However, this method is more complex to set up and lacks some of the DualSense's advanced features.
PlayStation Portal Review by Seth Macy**
"The PlayStation Portal is the most surprising device I've come away from loving after approaching with skepticism. It offers a far superior experience compared to using your phone with a makeshift controller, and it performs much better than anticipated. The freedom to play my PS5 games from anywhere with decent WiFi coverage is invaluable, particularly when the family is using the TV for other gaming sessions. Although it's not a standalone device and requires a PlayStation 5 to function, the Portal's main drawbacks are its lack of support for WiFi networks requiring a web browser login and the absence of Bluetooth audio. Despite these limitations, it remains the best current solution for PlayStation Remote Play. Without these issues, I'd consider it a must-own for every PS5 owner who enjoys handheld gaming or needs to share the household TV."
