Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s Continued Success
Since its launch, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has captivated players with its rich narrative, unique art style, and immersive gameplay. The game's ongoing success has not only solidified Sandfall Interactive’s position in the industry but also paved the way for exciting new ventures.
A New Project Is Definitely in the Works
The overwhelming reception of Expedition 33 has opened up fresh opportunities for the French indie studio, Sandfall Interactive. In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz on May 27, COO and Producer François Meurisse shared insights into the team’s future plans.
“We are definitely working on another video game,” Meurisse stated confidently. While details remain under wraps, the excitement within the team is palpable. “I can’t wait to explore the ideas we already have for the next project,” he added.

Meurisse also highlighted how the development journey of Expedition 33 helped shape the team’s growth. Many members started as juniors when the project began, and over time, they’ve built a strong, collaborative foundation.
“This experience gave us the skills and confidence to tackle even bigger challenges. We’ll start our next project from a much stronger place than before. It will be more ambitious, no doubt about it—but we’re ready for it.”
Creative Director Guillaume Lubrano is reportedly brimming with innovative concepts for the next title. Whether this upcoming game will be a sequel or an entirely new intellectual property remains to be seen.
Before that, however, fans still hope for additional content for Expedition 33. When asked about potential DLC, Lead Writer Jennifer Svedberg-Yen hinted positively at the possibility—keeping the adventure alive for a little longer.
