The first update for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has officially launched, bringing essential bug fixes and localization enhancements to improve the overall player experience. The latest patch, Hotfix 1.2.2, resolves critical gameplay bugs that were affecting player progression. Notably, the update fixes a soft-lock issue that occurred when stunning the Grown Bourgeon during combat, a problem that previously halted gameplay entirely. Additional fixes include resolving soft-lock scenarios on the world map and other minor technical glitches that disrupted navigation and exploration.

On the localization front, the update introduces improved translations for French, German, and Chinese language options. These adjustments enhance text accuracy and readability, ensuring a more immersive experience for non-English players.

Sandfall Interactive confirmed they are actively working on further optimizations and plan to share additional updates in the near future. While the current patches focus on stability and performance, the community is hopeful for larger content expansions. Earlier in the week, the game’s lead writer responded to fan inquiries on Instagram about the possibility of DLC. While no official announcement was made, she expressed optimism, hinting that the game’s strong commercial performance could pave the way for future content.

Creative Director Recommends Fellow RPG The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy

In a gesture of mutual appreciation between developers, Guillaume Broche, Creative Director at Sandfall Games, took to Expedition 33's official Twitter (X) account on April 30 to recommend The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy—a turn-based RPG released on the same day.

Broche’s message read: "After your Expedition, check out The Hundred Line, another great turn-based RPG that was also released last week, and made with love by an awesome team."

This came in response to The Hundred Line's co-director, Kazutaka Kodaka, who previously praised Expedition 33 in a series of tweets on April 28. Kodaka wrote: "Even after you finish Expedition 33, this Japanese cult game will still be here, waiting for you!" He went on to encourage fans to experience both titles, highlighting the quality and passion behind each project.
