- DanChro service will end on September 29th
- Second anniversary content launches on July 30th
- Regular events will continue as scheduled
The battle action RPG Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Battle Chronicle (DanChro) will officially shut down in September, marking two years since its global release. Today's announcement from the directors cited the common challenge of maintaining service quality that meets player expectations.
DanChro launched in August 2023 with over one million pre-registrations and rapidly surpassed three million downloads. Leveraging the popular DanMachi IP and receiving consistent content updates, the RPG delivered an engaging combination of 3D combat and character collection. Still, it joins a growing list of gacha mobile games that have closed despite strong initial reception.
For its final phase, DanChro will launch a Second Anniversary event on July 30th, featuring an original story written by series creator Fujino Omori. This will be the last new content added to the game. Paid Selas currency will no longer be available for purchase after maintenance on that date, with full service ending across all platforms by late September.

With dominant titles like Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Blue Archive capturing significant player attention and spending, it's increasingly difficult for games like DanChro to maintain their audience. Unless developers innovate or establish unique niches, more mid-tier gacha RPGs could meet similar endings.
DanChro's final closure is set for September 29th. Players have until then to use remaining Selas, participate in the second anniversary celebration, and enjoy all upcoming events. Check the official website for the complete schedule.
