"Dead by Daylight Devs Eye The Thing and Cujo as Top Killer Picks"

Authore: MiaUpdate:May 28,2025

The latest buzz in the gaming world is that *Five Nights at Freddy’s* is set to join the terrifying universe of *Dead by Daylight*. However, developer Behaviour Interactive isn't stopping there. The team behind this popular asymmetrical horror game is always on the lookout for new horror icons to add to their roster, and they have some ambitious plans.

In a recent conversation with IGN, the team at Behaviour Interactive shared their aspirations for future additions to *Dead by Daylight*. While the inclusion of Springtrap from *Five Nights at Freddy’s* is already a thrilling announcement, some team members have their eyes set on other iconic names. Killer Designer and horror enthusiast Jason Guzzo, who has previously brought characters like Chucky, Dracula, and Springtrap into the game, is particularly passionate about one franchise: *The Thing*.

“As far as I know, it’s not something that is being discussed above me, but my dream – and probably my favorite horror movie – is the obvious one: *The Thing*,” Guzzo expressed. “I would love to get *The Thing* into *Dead by Daylight*. I have been here for two and a half years, and I have been on a crusade to figure out how to get *The Thing* into *Dead by Daylight*.”

Guzzo clarifies that his enthusiasm for a *The Thing* Chapter doesn't mean it's on the immediate horizon. He points out potential design challenges in creating a playable version of a mimic murderer, but remains steadfast in his desire to bring this iconic horror film into *Dead by Daylight*.

Creative Director Dave Richard also chimed in, emphasizing that dreaming up new Killers is a regular topic at Behaviour. While Pennywise from *It* is a name that Richard believes would be "amazing" to have, he's eager to expand the roster even further. “There are other kings of horror that would be amazing to have,” Richard said. “You could guess any one of them, I’m thinking. Frankly, I just want to collect them all.”

Richard also mentioned some less conventional horror icons that have been discussed internally, like Stephen King's *Cujo* and *Christine*. Bringing a rabid dog or a killer car into the game would certainly be a unique twist, and Richard believes there might be a way to make these ideas work within the game's current timeline.

As *Dead by Daylight* approaches its ninth anniversary, the game continues to evolve and expand. The *Five Nights at Freddy’s* Chapter, featuring Springtrap and a new pizzeria map, is set to launch on June 17.
