Deltarune's Console Testing Going Smoothly
On his official Bluesky account, Toby Fox provided fans with a detailed update on the console testing process for Deltarune. He mentioned that while there are still numerous tasks to complete, the testing is proceeding smoothly. "Still console testing. There are fewer bugs, but there's a lot to go through. (Haven't even tested PS5 yet)" Fox noted, expressing optimism about the progress. He also revealed that the team is working on a feature that will allow players to transfer their saves from the demo (Chapters 1 and 2) on console versions to the full game upon its release. "I hope it works!" he added, highlighting the recent acquisition of the necessary technology for this feature.
With the beta testing showing promising results, the release of Deltarune's Chapters 3 and 4 could be imminent. Toby Fox has confirmed that these chapters are set to launch sometime in 2025.
Fox Namedrops New Character, Tenna
Despite the heavy workload, Toby Fox continues to engage with his fanbase through entertaining mini-updates. Known for his humorous and meme-filled social media presence, Fox recently shared a light-hearted story about a minigame he's been developing for Deltarune. "I showed my family and friends a minigame I've been working on for DR (Deltarune) and they all described it as 'a cry for help because your game is not out'" Fox posted, adding that while his family saw it as a positive sign, a friend couldn't stop laughing at the situation.
This update sparked speculation among fans, especially since Fox mentioned in 2024 that the content for Chapters 3 and 4 was complete. Some believe the minigame could be part of the upcoming Chapter 5, as Deltarune is planned to span a total of seven chapters.
In the same post, Fox also mentioned a character named Tenna, who has yet to appear in the game but was first introduced during the Spamton Sweepstakes campaign for the Child's Play charity in September 2022. Fox's reference to Tenna confirms that this character will make an appearance in Chapter 3, adding to the anticipation for the new release.
Deltarune serves as a parallel and successor to the 2015 hit Undertale, incorporating many of the original game's mechanics and charm while introducing a fresh narrative and new characters. Players will join Kris, Susie, and Ralsei on their quest to save the world, promising another captivating adventure in the unique universe crafted by Toby Fox.
