Dungeonborne Officially Announces Shutdown Plans

The developers behind the PvPvE action game Dungeonborne, which drew inspiration from the popular title Dark and Darker, have recently announced that they will cease support for the game and close its servers. Launched less than a year ago, Dungeonborne struggled to maintain a consistent player base, primarily due to insufficient player engagement and a noticeable absence of substantial updates.

While Dungeonborne's page on Steam remains available, it has been removed from the platform's search results and can only be accessed via a direct link. Although the official reasons for the game's shutdown remain undisclosed, it's evident that the critically low number of players was a significant factor in this decision. Since the latter part of 2024, the game has consistently seen fewer than 200 concurrent players, with recent figures plummeting to a mere 10-15 players.

The servers for Dungeonborne are scheduled for permanent closure on May 28, signaling the end of the project's journey. What began with promise and excitement among fans of the genre will now quietly recede into history, leaving behind unfulfilled potential and a community that once hoped for more.
