Metro Quester | Osaka is now officially available on mobile. Developed by KEMCO, this marks the second chapter in the Metro Quester series, shifting the setting from Tokyo's devastated terrain to the river-laced ruins of Osaka.
The game is a collaboration between manga artist Kazushi Hagiwara and designer Hironori Kato, blending nostalgic RPG appeal with tactical complexity. Embracing a retro 1980s computer-game style, Metro Quester | Osaka Mobile features auto-mapping and fast-paced hack-and-slash combat.
A Dungeon Exploration RPG
This installment introduces a more open, organically structured dungeon layout. The map in Osaka is larger and less linear than Tokyo’s, providing greater freedom as you navigate your descent.
Breachable walls, creature nests, hidden supply stashes, and secured vaults create frequent surprises and alternate routes. Keys act as shortcuts to streamline Fuel usage, while boss monsters serve as the true obstacles—blocking progression and setting your party’s level limit.
A major new feature in Osaka is water navigation. Using piers and canoes, you can cross rivers to access remote areas—though each crossing uses an extra Fuel unit. Riverbanks range from quiet shores to chaotic stretches swarming with slimy aquatic foes.
Metro Quester | Osaka Mobile lets you pick from five themed starting parties. Familiar characters from the previous game are joined by new locals unique to Osaka. Choose from eight character classes: Detonator, Buddhist, Professor, Stealer, Scientist, Mobile Police, Officer, and Ranger.
Deeper levels introduce new monsters like the Scavenger Mawshroom, Bloodsucker Bat, Abnormal Antlion, and Caustic Flesh Wall. Increased enemy density adds both tension and challenge to every dungeon run.
