Authore: ChristianUpdate:Oct 25,2025

Behaviour Interactive offers an exclusive preview of Springtrap, Dead by Daylight’s newest Killer, showcasing gameplay mechanics designed to thrill Five Nights at Freddy’s fans when the Chapter launches on June 17, 2025.

IGN secured fresh details ahead of today’s Public Test Build (PTB) release, revealing how Springtrap’s abilities—inspired by Five Nights at Freddy’s—introduce unprecedented jump-scare mechanics to Behaviour’s asymmetrical horror experience.

Dubbed "one of Dead by Daylight’s most ambitious crossovers," this Chapter centers on Springtrap—The Animatronic, a haunting yellow rabbit wielding an axe. While deeply rooted in Five Nights at Freddy’s lore, Springtrap debuts as a fully playable character, allowing Behaviour to reimagine his terrifying potential.

Springtrap’s arsenal includes a giant pizza knife and a fire axe—the latter enabling area-of-effect attacks that expose Survivors. Precision throws can impale targets, triggering iconic Five Nights at Freddy’s jump scares upon retrieval.

Enhancing the crossover’s authenticity, Five Nights at Freddy’s film star Matthew Lillard voices The Animatronic’s Yellow Rabbit Legendary skin. Additional cosmetics include Glitchtrap, Clown Springtrap, Toxic Springtrap outfits, and Freddy Fazbear-themed Survivor apparel.

While Springtrap fulfills years of fan requests, the Chapter also introduces Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria—a meticulously reimagined map featuring the restaurant’s signature locales, twisted by The Entity.

Key areas like the Front Entrance, Kitchen, and Dining Hall host eerie encounters with Freddy’s bandmates Bonnie and Chica. The map promises hidden Easter eggs and jump scares, with secrets awaiting player discovery.

Core Five Nights at Freddy’s elements extend beyond the Pizzeria: Survivors encounter security doors, cameras, and monitoring stations on all maps—functional tools requiring careful battery management to track Springtrap.

The Chapter’s PTB goes live today at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET, with the full release arriving next month alongside quality-of-life updates. For deeper insights into Springtrap’s development, check out our exclusive interview with Behaviour Interactive.
