Marvel Contest of Champions is set to deliver a wave of thrilling content throughout April, headlined by the arrival of the iconic champion Spider-Woman. Alongside her, Kabam introduces another new champion with a completely different energy—offering players fresh strategic options and gameplay experiences.
The Backstory of Spider-Woman in Marvel Contest of Champions
Spider-Woman, born as Jessica Drew, endured a life-altering event during her childhood when she was exposed to dangerous levels of uranium near her home. Her father, a brilliant geneticist, took drastic measures to save her life by injecting her with a serum containing spider DNA.
Although the experiment left her with long-term side effects, it also granted her incredible powers rooted in her arachnid origins. After years of recovery, Jessica embraced her newfound abilities and eventually became the formidable hero known as Spider-Woman. She will officially join the roster in Marvel Contest of Champions starting April 17th.
But before that, players will encounter another new arrival—Lumatrix, who debuts on April 9th. A lethal assassin engineered by the Founders, Lumatrix wields dazzling light-based abilities ideal for infiltration and precision strikes, making him a unique addition to your roster.
What Else Is New in Marvel Contest of Champions?
Act 9 Chapter 2: Inquisition
The latest chapter in the game’s evolving storyline, titled Inquisition, brings high-stakes drama and new challenges. Carina finds herself gravely injured after a brutal encounter with the Ouroborus forces, while Doctor Doom unexpectedly aligns with the Fantastic Four. Meanwhile, the corruption of the Chronoserpent continues to spread across the universe, threatening everything in its path.
A brand-new villain emerges in this arc—Lotan—raising the tension even further.
Event Quest: Spy Games
Kicking off on April 9th and running through May 7th, the Spy Games Event Quest sees Black Widow diving deep into the mysteries surrounding the Eidols. This time, she's joined by none other than Spider-Woman, offering players an exciting narrative-driven experience filled with missions, rewards, and character interactions.
Dark Phoenix Returns
Dark Phoenix returns in a revamped Side Quest format called Dark Bounties. This time, she’s placed bounties on several champions, giving players the chance to hunt them down and earn valuable loot in return.
Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector
The popular Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector makes a triumphant return. Players can test their might with top-tier Saga champions to earn powerful resources such as Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
