Authore: LucasUpdate:May 22,2025

Remedy has officially announced that FBC: Firebreak will launch on June 17, 2025. This eagerly anticipated game is a session-based, multiplayer PvE experience that dives deep into the universe of Control. Players will embark on a variety of replayable missions, referred to as Jobs, each presenting unique challenges, objectives, and dynamic environments. These missions will test players' teamwork and adaptability, making every session a thrilling adventure.

FBC: Firebreak will be available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on Xbox Series X and S, and PlayStation 5, priced at $39.99 / €39.99 / £32.99. Gamers can also access it on day one through PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog (Extra and Premium tiers). Notably, this marks Remedy's first venture into self-publishing.

In addition to the standard edition, Remedy introduced the FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition, which is priced at $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99. This deluxe package includes exclusive cosmetics and premium voice packs. Owners of the base game can upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for $10 / €10 / £7. The Deluxe Edition offers:

  • “The Firestarter” Premium Voice Pack
  • “The Pencil Pusher” Premium Voice Pack
  • Firestarter Armor Set, Apex Revision (Helmet, Body Armor, Gloves)
  • Scorched Remnant Double-Barrel Shotgun Skin
  • Golden Firebreak Spray
  • Classified Requisition: “Firestarter”: A collection of 36 unlockable cosmetic items including weapon skins, sprays, and armor sets

The game introduces a new system called Requisitions, which allows players to earn new gear and cosmetics simply by playing. These rewards include weapons, equipment, armor, sprays, and more, all unlockable with in-game currency earned through gameplay. There are no time-limited windows or rotating stores; once an item is added to the game, it remains available permanently.

For those seeking additional customization, Classified Requisitions offer premium cosmetic items such as armor sets, custom voice packs, sprays, and weapon skins. These can be purchased with real money but are purely cosmetic and do not affect gameplay. For more details on how Requisitions work, you can read more here.

Remedy has also committed to ongoing support for FBC: Firebreak post-launch, with plans to introduce two new Jobs in 2025 and further updates in 2026. All new playable content, including Jobs, will be free to all players. While cosmetic items can be purchased, they will not impact gameplay, and there will be no limited-time rotations or daily log-ins, ensuring a fair and enjoyable experience for all.

Amidst this excitement, Remedy is juggling multiple projects, including the development of Control 2 and the Max Payne and Max Payne 2 remake compilation, promising a busy and thrilling future for fans of the studio.
