Feral Interactive Releases Imperium Update for ROME: Total War

If you're a fan of the classic strategy game ROME: Total War on Android, get ready for an exciting upgrade. Feral Interactive has just released the Imperium Update, a significant free update packed with gameplay enhancements, control improvements, and quality-of-life features. Originally released on Android in 2018, this game is about to become even more enjoyable. Fans of the standalone expansions Barbarian Invasion and Alexander can also look forward to these updates hitting their games next week.

What Does the Imperium Update Bring to ROME: Total War?

The Imperium Update draws inspiration from Feral's more recent mobile titles, such as Total War: MEDIEVAL II and EMPIRE, bringing some of their best features into ROME: Total War. A highlight of this update is the introduction of three new control options: Positioning Mode, Melee Mode, and Automatic Deselection. These options enhance your ability to command units with greater precision during battles. Now, you can effortlessly move your armies, agents, or fleets by simply tapping and holding, eliminating the need to manually drag paths.

Positioning Mode allows for meticulous unit placement by tapping and holding, while the Group Grid feature simplifies managing unit groups with an intuitive collapsible selection menu. Melee Mode enables ranged units to switch to close combat when the situation demands it, adding a strategic layer to your gameplay.

One of the most significant enhancements is the Command Slowdown feature, which automatically slows the game when you're issuing complex orders, giving you more time to strategize. Additionally, for the first time, ROME: Total War on Android (and iPad) now supports keyboard and mouse, enhancing the control experience significantly.

The minimap has been revamped to resemble the smoother and more intuitive one found in MEDIEVAL II. It now features enhanced zooming and navigation, along with a new reset button that quickly returns you to the default view.

The Imperium Update is available now for ROME: Total War on Android via the Google Play Store. Make sure to update your game to experience these improvements firsthand. Keep an eye out for the updates coming to Barbarian Invasion and Alexander next week as well.
