New Monster Outbreaks Feature Tested in Monster Hunter Now

Monster Hunter Now is buzzing with excitement as Niantic introduces a brand-new concept called Monster Outbreaks. This experimental feature aims to engage players in cooperative challenges while gathering valuable feedback to refine the idea before its official release.

When Does the Monster Outbreak Testing Take Place?

The Monster Outbreak testing will occur over two days—April 26th and 27th—spanning several hours each day. On both Saturday and Sunday, the event will run twice daily: from 10:00 AM to 10:59 AM and again from 3:00 PM to 3:59 PM, all in local time.

During this period, players will encounter clusters of 8-star Black Diablos at designated outbreak points scattered across the map. Teams must collaborate to defeat 100 of these creatures within a single hour—not globally, but specifically at the chosen location.

To participate, players must have a Hunter Rank (HR) of at least 11. Additionally, solo hunting is mandatory; the party feature cannot be used for this event. Each outbreak point features a distinct icon on the map, allowing participants to locate and join forces easily. A sign-up roster has been added at these spots, enabling players to coordinate their efforts effectively.

What Can Players Expect During the Event?

Defeating Black Diablos requires teamwork, as every participant contributes to the cumulative kill count. For instance, if a team of four hunters successfully takes down one monster, it counts as four kills toward the 100-target goal. Should the target be reached before the timer expires, teams can continue hunting until the hour concludes. During this time, only Black Diablos will appear.

Successful groups will receive generous rewards upon achieving the 100-monster milestone. These include 3 Black Diablos Tailcases, 3 Ridges, 3 Primeshells, 3 Marrows, and 2,000 Zenny. Furthermore, those who utilize the sign-up roster will earn a special Outbreak Test I Medal.
