Speculation about the specs of Nintendo's long-rumored Nintendo Switch upgrade has finally come to an end, and the results are more impressive than many anticipated. The new console supports up to 120fps and can even handle 4K resolution when docked, surpassing many expectations.
During today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo unveiled several exciting features of the system. The Nintendo Switch 2 boasts a larger 7.9-inch built-in screen compared to its predecessor, while maintaining the same thickness of 13.9mm. This upgraded screen offers double the pixels, supporting a crisp 1080p display in handheld mode at up to 120fps. It's an LCD screen with HDR capabilities, and when docked, it can deliver stunning 4K resolution with HDR as well.The Joy-Con 2 controllers feature a magnetic connection and can be detached by pressing a release button on the back. The SL and SR buttons on the sides are larger, enhancing playability in horizontal mode, and the left and right sticks have also been upsized. Additionally, this segment officially introduced mouse control support in the Joy-Con controllers.
The handheld Nintendo Switch 2 is equipped with a built-in microphone featuring noise-canceling technology and 3D audio for compatible games. It also includes a larger, more robust stand that can be adjusted to various heights. A top USB port allows for external camera connectivity or charging the system while in tabletop mode.
