Omori Cancels Switch and PS4 Physical Release in EuropeMeridiem Games, Omori's European publisher, has announced the cancellation of the game's physical release for Nintendo Switch and PS4 in Europe. The publisher cited technical challenges related to multilingual European localization as the reason for the cancellation.

A String of Postponements Leads to Cancellation

The physical release, initially slated for March 2023, faced repeated delays, shifting to December 2023, then March 2024, and finally January 2025 before being ultimately canceled. Pre-orders through retailers like Amazon were impacted by these postponements. While Meridiem Games remained tight-lipped about the specifics of the localization issues, the cumulative delays ultimately led to this disappointing decision.

This cancellation is particularly frustrating for European fans, as it prevents the official release of the game in Spanish and other European languages. While a digital version remains available, fans seeking a physical copy are currently limited to importing the US version.

Omori Cancels Switch and PS4 Physical Release in EuropeOmori, an RPG centered around Sunny, a young boy coping with trauma, blends real-world and dream-world narratives. Released initially on PC in December 2020, the game expanded to Switch, PS4, and Xbox in 2022. However, the Xbox version was subsequently removed due to an unrelated issue involving an older, inappropriate T-shirt design sold by OMOCAT.
