Northern Forge Studios’ Orna: The GPS RPG has received a significant award for its innovative approach to environmental storytelling. Orna was awarded the Media Choice Award at the 2025 Green Game Jam. This recognition specifically focuses on its Natureblight event, so Orna: The GPS RPG is reintroducing it this week!
The ceremony occurred last week at the BFI Southbank in London, UK. It is hosted by Playing for the Planet in collaboration with BFI, Ukie, and Video Games Europe. The event honored developers who use their skills to create a tangible environmental impact while offering players engaging experiences.
Do you recall Natureblight in Orna: The GPS RPG? -------------------------------------------
Natureblight first appeared in May 2025 as part of the Green Game Jam initiative. It is an in-game chapter that is included in Terra’s Legacy. The event combines fantasy role-playing with themes of sustainability and ecological responsibility.
This time, Natureblight will be available in Orna: The GPS RPG from now until November 21st, 2025. It takes you on a mission to fight The Great Murk, an expanding corruption that endangers both the game’s mythical world and the natural environments that inspired it.
You will travel through landscapes based on real-world ecosystems. These include the icy regions of the Antarctic Peninsula and the thick forests of Uganda. Along your journey, you will meet Animal Guardians who protect your areas.
You can gain these creatures as loyal companion pets by finishing event quests. Some examples are Beaver from Prince Edward County, Canada, Coral Reef representing Oceania, and Mountain Gorilla from Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in Uganda.
The selection also features Bone Mammoth from Dunkerque, France, Giant Tortoise from the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, and Giant Panda from Chengdu, China. Finally, there is the Macaroni Penguin from the Antarctic Peninsula.
