A short reveal trailer gave us our first glimpse of Persona 4 Revival (P4R) coming to Xbox, PS5, and PC, with a day one launch on Game Pass. While the footage was brief, the showcased environments appear to be a significant visual upgrade from the original release.

Following the announcement, P-Studio director Kazuhisa Wada shared these messages:

We are thrilled to officially announce Persona 4 Revival. Stay tuned for more details in the near future.
Persona 4 is a particularly special title for us at Atlus, having inspired numerous spin-offs like a TV anime, Persona 4 Arena, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, and Persona 4: Dancing All Night. This is a project we are developing with immense passion and dedication. We are confident it will feel both fresh and surprising for new players and longtime fans alike, and we cannot wait to share it with everyone.
Furthermore, our studio is actively laying the groundwork for the future of the Persona series. We are committed to meeting the high expectations of our global fanbase, and development is progressing smoothly. Please look forward to future announcements.
We sincerely appreciate your ongoing support for the Persona series.

Rumors of a full Persona 4 remake have been circulating for some time, fueled by recently registered domain names, industry leaks, and statements from several original voice actors indicating they would not be returning for the unannounced project, which sparked further speculation.

We awarded the original Persona 4 a 9/10 in our review, praising it as "a major improvement over its predecessors, offering a deeply engaging dungeon-crawling and social linking experience." The enhanced Persona 4 Golden version has since become the definitive way to play on modern platforms, though fans have long expressed disappointment over its absence on Nintendo Switch despite years of requests.
