Rockstar: GTA 6 Trailer 2 Breaks Records as Biggest Video Launch Ever

Authore: JoshuaUpdate:May 13,2025

Rockstar Games has declared that the launch of GTA 6 Trailer 2 is the most significant video launch in history, amassing a staggering 475 million views across all platforms on its debut day. This surpasses the viewership of other blockbuster movie trailer launches, such as Deadpool & Wolverine's 365 million views in its first 24 hours and The Fantastic Four: First Steps' 200 million. Even last year's Superman trailer, which garnered over 250 million views and set a record for DC and Warner Bros., falls short in comparison to GTA 6 Trailer 2's monumental achievement.

It's interesting to note that GTA 6 Trailer 1, which initially launched exclusively on YouTube, achieved 93 million views on its first day and became the platform's biggest non-music video launch ever. As of this article's publication on May 8, GTA 6 Trailer 2 has already accumulated 85,276,196 views on Rockstar's official YouTube channel.

Following the release of GTA 6 Trailer 2, IGN reported a significant surge in Spotify streams for The Pointer Sisters' song Hot Together, which was featured in the trailer. The 1986 track experienced a remarkable 182,000% increase in global Spotify streams within just two hours of the trailer's premiere. Spotify’s Global Head of Editorial, Sulinna Ong, commented on the phenomenon, stating, “Grand Theft Auto cuts through popular culture like almost nothing else. Music has been synonymous with the series since the very beginning, so it’s great to see fans both new and established connecting with an iconic track in this way.”

The release of GTA 6 Trailer 2 came after the game's high-profile delay from fall 2025 to May 26, 2026. With expectations soaring, GTA 6 is poised to become the biggest entertainment launch of all time, potentially setting new revenue records not only in the video game industry but also in the broader entertainment sector.
