Xbox fans can now enjoy several recent Final Fantasy titles, including a surprise release of Final Fantasy 16 today.
Later this winter, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will also join the Xbox lineup.
Following a two-year wait, the sixteenth mainline Final Fantasy game is now available on Xbox Series X/S. It originally launched for PlayStation 5 in June 2023 and later on PC in September 2024.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake first debuted in 2020 for PlayStation 4, with its Intergrade enhanced version arriving a year later on PC and PS5.
All this indicates that Xbox fans have waited a long time for these releases. Their arrival this year suggests that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth may follow in the relatively near future.
"Its outstanding story, characters, and world-building rank among the best in the series. The innovative Active Time Lore feature could set a new standard for how story-rich games maintain player engagement," noted IGN in our Final Fantasy 16 review.
"While some repetitive content and complex additions occasionally hinder the experience, it successfully revitalizes a classic while standing as a remarkable RPG in its own right," commented IGN in our Final Fantasy 7 Remake review.
