Application Description

Ensuring your WiFi network's security is crucial, and tools like WPSApp can help you do just that by checking vulnerabilities using the WPS protocol. This protocol enables connection to a WiFi network with an 8-digit pin, often pre-set by the router manufacturer. However, the issue arises because the pins for many routers are either publicly known or can be calculated, making networks susceptible to unauthorized access.

WPSApp employs various algorithms to generate these pins and tests them to assess network vulnerability. It also calculates default keys for some routers, displays WiFi passwords stored on your device, scans connected devices, and evaluates the quality of WiFi channels. Using the app is straightforward: when scanning nearby networks, you'll encounter three types of indications:

  • Networks marked with a red cross are considered "secure" because they have disabled the WPS protocol and their default passwords are unknown.
  • Networks with a question mark have the WPS protocol enabled, but the pin is unknown. In such cases, WPSApp can test common pins.
  • Networks showing a green tick are likely vulnerable; they have the WPS protocol enabled with a known pin. Alternatively, even if WPS is disabled, if the password is known, it will appear in green, allowing connection with the key.

To access full functionalities like viewing passwords, connecting on Android 9/10, and more, you need to be a Root user. It's important to note that not all networks are vulnerable, and even if a network is flagged as such, it doesn't guarantee 100% vulnerability. Many router manufacturers have updated firmware to address these issues.

If your network is vulnerable, take immediate action: disable WPS and set a strong, personalized password. Remember, unauthorized intrusion into networks is illegal, and I am not responsible for any misuse of this information.

From Android 6 (Marshmallow) onwards, you need to grant location permissions to use such apps, a requirement added by Google. More information can be found at: Google's Marshmallow Changes.

Be aware that some Samsung models encrypt passwords, displaying them as a series of hexadecimal digits. For decryption, you might need to seek online resources or contact the app's support. Also, note that pin connections don't work on LG models running Android 7 (Nougat) due to LG's software issues.
