"Now You See Me 3 Renamed; Sequel Confirmed"

Big news for fans of the Now You See Me franchise: the third installment, officially titled Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, is set to hit theaters on November 14, 2025, as confirmed by Adam Fogelson, chair of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, during CinemaCon. But the excitement doesn't stop there—Lionsgate has also announced that a fourth film is already in development.

Director Ruben Fleischer, known for his work on Zombieland, Uncharted, and Venom, has signed on to helm both Now You See Me: Now You Don’t and the upcoming fourth installment. The franchise, which has grossed $700 million globally, will see Fleischer reuniting with stars Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson, who also starred in his debut film, Zombieland. New additions to the cast include Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt as a fresh wave of illusionists, with Rosamund Pike joining the ensemble for the third film.

Bobby Cohen, the original developer and producer of the series, will continue his role alongside Alex Kurtzman of Secret Hideout. Meredith Wieck will oversee the project for Lionsgate.

Adam Fogelson praised Fleischer's work, stating, “Ruben has delivered all of the twists and turns and sleight-of-hand that audiences expect from this franchise while upping the stakes and scale in every way. We can’t wait for audiences to discover what he’s done with the third film and [are] thrilled he’ll be making even more magic with us.”

Fleischer himself expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Directing Now You See Me: Now You Don’t was as much fun as making any movie in my career. It combines two of my favorite things — heist movies and magic — and working with this incredible cast was truly magical. Of course I want to keep it going.”

Despite the excitement surrounding the new films, IGN reviews of the previous installments were less than glowing. The original Now You See Me received a 6.3/10, with the review noting, “Now You See Me seemed so promising, but it squanders its cool cast and nifty premise on smarmy, shallow characters and a flimsy, nonsensical plot.” The sequel, Now You See Me 2, fared slightly worse with a 6.2/10, described as “not the worst magic act in town, but it's all flash and no substance.”

With Now You See Me: Now You Don’t and a fourth film on the horizon, fans of the franchise have plenty to look forward to, despite the mixed reviews of the earlier entries.
