Launching on May 6
Developer Schell Games and publisher Innersloth have confirmed the official launch date for Among Us 3D. In a post on the game's official X (formerly Twitter) account on April 16, it was revealed that Among Us 3D will arrive on May 6, 2025.
Originally known as Among Us VR, the project was rebranded to Among Us 3D to reflect its expanded cross-play multiplayer experience. Recently, the developers also introduced a new in-game currency called Stardust, which does not expire and offers players greater freedom in their purchases.
Among Us 3D will include a permanent Tag Mode featuring the Infected role, built-in proximity voice chat, limited-time events, a mix of new and classic mini-games, and a wide array of fresh cosmetics.
It's important to note that Among Us 3D is a distinct title from the original Among Us VR released in 2022, meaning cross-play between the two games will not be possible. According to the FAQ on Schell Games' website, Among Us 3D is a completely separate experience.
The developers stated, "Separating the versions during development has allowed us to continue delivering quality updates for Among Us VR while ensuring a high-quality, tailored experience for our new PC audience."
Wishlist Campaign Details
Among Us 3D is now available to wishlist on Steam. To celebrate, Schell Games has launched the "Powered By Wishlists Challenge," a campaign where players can unlock in-game rewards by reaching community milestones. The rewards for each tier are as follows:
● 333,333 Wishlists - Exclusive New Hat
● 444,444 Wishlists - Another New Hat
● 555,555 Wishlists - A Cosmetic Surprise
● 777,777 Wishlists - Suspiciously New Exciting Cosmetic(s)
While the final two milestone rewards remain under wraps, players can anticipate fantastic items to customize their crewmates. Among Us 3D is scheduled for release on PC on May 6, 2025.
