How To Get Distilled Emotions in Path of Exile 2
The ability to anoint amulets and Waystones becomes available later in the game. This is because you need Distilled Emotions for the process, which are obtained from Delirium Maps. Players familiar with the first game will recognize that Distilled Emotions serve a similar function to Blight Oils. There are ten varieties: Despair, Disgust, Envy, Fear, Greed, Guilt, Ire, Isolation, Paranoia, and Suffering.
The primary method for acquiring Distilled Emotions is by completing Delirium Maps, which rewards you with a random selection. Alternatively, you can obtain them through currency exchange or the trade market.
To upgrade Distilled Emotions, use the Reforging Bench. Combining three of the same type will yield an upgraded version of that emotion, allowing you to target specific upgrades.
For those seeking a greater challenge, Simulacrum waves also have a chance to drop Distilled Emotions. However, this method is less efficient for farming compared to Delirium Maps and requires a stronger character build due to higher difficulty.

How To Anoint Items in Path of Exile 2
Currently, you can anoint Waystones and amulets, though additional options may be introduced as the game is still in Early Access. To anoint an amulet, select any Distilled Emotion to open the Instilling window. Place the amulet in the center slot and three Distilled Emotions in the bottom slots. The required emotions for each anointing ability can be viewed on the Passive Skill Tree by hovering over a Notable Passive Skill and pressing Alt (keyboard) or R3 (controller).

The passive skills you choose to anoint will depend on your build, and this effect is not permanent. You can change an anointed passive by repeating the process—the new skill will overwrite the previous one, enabling adjustments as your build evolves.
The same process applies to Waystones, which can grant challenging effects or improve loot rewards. Note that neither Waystones nor amulets can be anointed if they are corrupted.
Now you're equipped to enhance your amulets through anointing, whether to boost your current build or take on greater challenges by anointing Waystones and testing your strength in Path of Exile 2.
Path of Exile 2 is now available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
